Hostal Conde de Villanueva Ciudad de La Habana
Hostal Conde de Villanueva's Facade
Hostal Conde de Villanueva's Facade
In the 19th century, Claudio Martínez de Pinillo, the Count of Villanueva, lived in this luxurious mansion. The place is quintessentially Cuban, with beautiful stained glass windows, arches, an interior patio with exuberant vegetation, horse tying posts and even peacocks. Creole influence is evident in the restaurant, rooms and cigar shop. The Count was an important world promoter of tobacco, and his former residence was restored with a Cuban cigar motif.
