Finding Cuba on the Map

Cuba is not just one island, but many: 4,195 keys and islands covering 110,922 km2 to be exact.

The archipelago is found at the entrance to the Gulf of Mexico, between North and South America.

Jamaica and Haiti can be seen from Cuban mountains on clear days.

The city of Havana is only 180 km. (112 miles) from the United States and Cabo de San Antonio in the west is only 210km. (131 miles) from Mexico.

France is five times bigger than Cuba, but several countries such as Holland, Belgium, Hungary, Austria, Bulgaria, Denmark and Switzerland could each fit inside Cuba at least once and some several times.

The province of Camagüey in central Cuba has exactly the same area as the nation of Israel, and the total area of Albania, Haiti, Hawaii, Jamaica, Puerto Rico and Luxembourg taken together is about the same as Cuba.
