Dearest Marisela,
We are writing to convey our heartfelt thanks to you for the immense
amount of work you put in to making our vacation pleasurable. You went above and
beyond the call of duty and were so very attentive to our wants and needs, and
we just can't thank you enough for taking care of us so well, and so graciously.
We were quite happy with our accommodations, and the activities you helped arrange,
for example finding an English-speaking guide for a tour of Havana and that lovely
visit to the Organiponico, all greatly enhanced our visit.

My name is Jasmine and I am from California. I am so glad Cubalinda.comhelped us
to get to Cuba because I dont speak very much Spanish, and I had to depend
on someone here in Cuba who could speak English. So we had no
problems with communication. When I emailed them questions, they answered me usually by the
next day. They gave me answers to all my questions about traveling to Cuba. I
was a little afraid of all the things I had to do like
send money to the travel agency by wire. I would advise people to check their banks to find out how much
it cost to wire money. Since you wire money to an account in Europe you do not
have to worry about the bank knowing where you are vacationing. You have to pay
for your flight and hotel before you go and when you Arrived in Cancun you pick
up your tickets. Cubalinda gave us a flight code and our tickets were written
out on the spot. Then we waited for our flight which was on time, and in one hour
we Arrived in Havana.
Cubalinda told us how much a taxi would cost, so we wouldnt be cheated by the driver
and that was really important to me because we all feel a little tired and worn
after flying for hours. Cubalinda.com can provide wide range of accommodations
depending on how much you want to spend. You can come here having no idea what
you want to do and they can make arrangements for different places to visit depending
on what you are interested in. They talk to you about the differences & advantages
of using both dollars and pesos. They also tell you places where you can eat cheaply,
or expensively. I am so happy that we had Cubalinda.com as a contact. They make
me feel very safe and they care about me and my husband. I recommend Cubalinda.com
to anyone who wants to travel to Cuba. Cuba is a beautiful, enchanting and charming
place. |

Many thanks for looking after us all so well during our stay in Cuba. The adventure
was wonderful, and made the more so because you were so thoughtful with arrangements
and phone calls. Hope you are busy but not too tired, and that the business continues
to thrive. Happy New Year to you and your colleagues. |

My wife & I went to Cuba in January, 2001. Cubalinda.com is the most generous
& friendly travel agency we have ever encountered. We were worried, since
this was our first Internet trip. Cubalinda.com helped us. Every step of the way
when we came from America. They made my wife & I feel welcome & safe.
They even personally checked on us at our hotel to make sure we Arrived safely.
Before our trip, we only thought of seeing the sights in Havana. They gave us
great suggestions on different places to visit in Cuba. They arranged our itinerary
for us, made all our hotel reservations and gave us many practical tips for dining
and traveling. |

Cuba, a country so misunderstood, unknown and politically polarized by most who have
never been. I had been there once before and have wanted for a long time to return
to this, perhaps the best country overall in Latin America. The opportunity recently
came up and I was there within two days after having booked my flights. I was
there at the end of September and beginning of October.
It's not far away from the U.S., geographically. One moment, I was looking out the
airplane window and saw the lights of Key West, Florida. Fifteen minutes later,
I was over Havana and landing.
Havana is one of the most unusual cities in the world: It's modern and old, communist
and capitalist, puritanical and decadent, touristy and totally non-touristy, etc.,
all depending on which way you're looking down the same street at the same time.
The old city is beautiful and extensive as it was the largest Spanish colonial
city in the Americas. Its recent and ongoing renovations of block after block
of incredible buildings being done by the Cuban government are impressive. I stayed
out in one of the eastern suburbs where the beach is and what a beautiful, lively
place that was!
What is best about Cuba is its people: They redefine the term "friendly"
because they are wonderful at being open, kind, helpful, curious and fun. It's
a virtual guarantee that everyone you meet is going to be friendly.
Unlike many of its Caribbean neighbors, Cuba's streets are safe and locals take pride
in the country's order. Cuba is amazingly organized for a Latin American country.
You often get the feel like you're in a first world country. A parameter I follow
is how local mass transit works and my use of it. In Havana, buses and commuter
railways run frequently, 24-hours a day, on-time and with boarding procedures
that are orderly and work. There are no maps of Havana's rail and bus system,
but it was easy to figure out and use. And not bad for US $0.02 cost per ride.
Every night of my trip was like an all-night party. Friendly Cubans, amusing foreigners,
beautiful women everywhere in those hot, steamy, nights along the Caribbean beaches
with salsa music in the background to dance to
(everyone wants to dance!)
and the best rum in the world to cool off with just made for a perfect vacation
environment.
The U.S. may ignore Cuba, but the rest of the world doesn't, so the feel in Havana
is cosmopolitan. Sure, I am aware that Cuba is a communist country and it has
a peculiar two currency economy that leads to hardship for many of its people.
But being a traveler, I am there not to judge the country for its faults. I travelled
there to be among the people, see how they live and cope with their everyday
lives, learn about their history and culture. When you go to Cuba with this perspective,
you too, will love it. Go before there is a mass invasion of American tourists.
The current environment is just right for a traveler.
I'm ready to go back!
Regards,
John |
